As transit expands in Canada, housing options are also growing.
In southern Ontario, there have been several recent transit projects that are making commuting more accessible. GO Transit, the TTC, and Ontario 407 have extended their routes, creating more travel options.
At the same time as commuter options grow, so is the opportunity for remote work. According to 2017 research from Regus Canada, about 47% of Canadians work from outside their employer’s main offices for half the week or more. And with cloud technology advancements, that number could be growing.
Toronto Life recently released a series on the “middle-class migration” – residents leaving the City of Toronto for more affordable areas.
There is opportunity here for mortgage professionals.
